i used photomatix for HDR, there was a strength slider, if it was low there wasnt any halo effect...

I can see you've worked quite a lot on this one. The source image is good, and you've managed to enhance the contrast very successfully, and the image is crystal clear. After looking at it for a little while when the initial impression has been made, I notice more and more the white you've put around his head, presumably to put it forward, to enhance it. I think the white is a bit too much and it gets in the way of the image (an annoyance perhaps). I think the effects you've put on, probably most due to the white, give me the impression that the image is overly edited instead of just being natural.
