Yes I took the photograph.
Only edit I have done is the crop and occasionally darkening the colors.

Interesting variant of the "dew drop on the leaf".
The first problem I see with this photo is incorrect centering. The eye is first drawn to the branch in the background, and THAN to the main subject. It may help to crop the photo so that the drop is centered.
The next issue is the lack of focus. The drop is in focus, but everything else is blurry. Better control, so that at least the whole leaf the drop is on is in focus, would help a lot.
Next, the lack of background. To me, it seems like there is nothing there, nothing really going on. Taking the shot at a slightly different perspective so that things are closer would help out a lot.
And lastly is coloring. This shot has the foreground in shadow, and background in light. Adding light to the foreground would help a lot.
Over all I like this picture, and the effect that was attempted by the photographer. The reflection in the drop is very nice, and captured well.
