I saw him speak at a convention in Atlanta back in the 1980's... Right before STV, I think. He and Walter Koenig were so funny together... He seemed like such a sweet, charming man. Very different from the intense, brooding characters he played.

i had the great honor and pleasure of meeting Mark Lenard when he come to Pensacola for a con just about a year before his passing ... when i asked if he was content with a career of almost entirely nothing but "character roles," he replied, "my young friend, they are all character roles." that made a lasting impression.
