is anubis the god of the underworld? or did you just decide to make him the scale to make it more interesting. lol. im confused. Well, he looks awesome either way!

Anubis was originally god of the Underworld, and the god of embalming (basically why mummification exists in the first place). However, after Seth killed his brother Osiris, Anubis helped Isis put together the pieces she managed to find of him (she only found 13 of the 14 pieces of Osiris that Seth scattered across Egypt) and used his embalming abilities.
Osiris was revived and basically took over the role Anubis had as the god of the Underworld, and now Anubis weighs the hearts of the dead to that of the feather of Ma'at while Thoth documents it all.
So him being the scale itself, while more interesting, is actually pretty accurate to what kind of god he is now.
