Description I've grown up with a Christian family and we've always been pretty hardcore during Christmas. xD (At celebrating, I mean xD Not being hardcore Christians)
This time of year is about spending time with my family, giving and receiving, and just enjoying the atmosphere of the holiday season. At least that's why I celebrate it. xD

Happy Holidays, everyone c:

Sorry, but Christmas IS just for Catholics

It would be like everyone celebrating Chanuuka or Kwanzaa

I feel they should create a holiday version of these for non-catholics, or if you really don't believe in God, follow how you feel and deal with not celebrating, instead of going halfway

It's religion specific, its jsut that so many catholics are in America, people treat it like a holiday for all

I feel thats dumb

Just cause I would like 8 nights of presents instead of one, doesn't mean I'm gonna start encroaching on the jewish holiday cause it feels nice.

Christmas is just a pagan holiday wearing a Christian mask. Biblical scholars believe Jesus was born sometime in Spring. Honestly, the "Reason for the season" is to spend time with your family and friends. The love and friendship is much more reason to celebrate in my opinion.

I think I read somewhere that Jesus was supposedly born on March 20th, but I'm not sure. :/ That's most likely not going to change the holiday. xD
I don't think I'd even consider it a strictly religious holiday anymore, everyone I know celebrates it basically for what you described, I can only think of a handful of my friends that would take the birth of Jesus into mind. xD

My mom is atheist and I grew up with that (I'm atheist also). We've always celebrated Christmas. It's completely about family for us. (:

I celebrate it because my mother is in slight denial at the fact that I'm Pagan. :3 I'll be using this on my journal page.

Well, Christmas is technically a pagan holiday. You probably have more right--for lack of a better word-- than anyone to celebrate Christmas. xD

Yeah, probably. Since Jesus was NOT born on the 25th:3
In my religion, though, we don't EXACTLY celebrate Yule, I celebrate a several day Winter festival for the god of Winter. It does lapse over Yule, I think.

I forgot to add that although we're not very 'Christian' by going to church alot, we do celebrate the heck out Christmas, by making candies, and having us all over and such. C: it's a fun-time. Like we open presents on Christmas eve, and my grandfather is the one who HAS to hand out the gifts, and my grandma and my mom's job is to sit and smoke and drink coffee, my mom takes pictures, and my job is to flip out over everything I get. :'D

Sure, Christmas has a deep Christian part, but I don't think you really need to be Christian to celebrate..
Sure it's the day that Jesus was born, it's his birthday, but it's also about giving presents and spending time with friends and family C:

My family is 'Christian' but we're not really considered 'great christians' cause we don't go to church, unless we want to, we believe that god can hear you anywhere, you don't have to get up at 7AM Sunday morning to go to his house to tell you that you love him and believe in him. you can talk to him anywhere and you'll make it to heaven if you believe in his existance and that Jesus is our savior and all..

Heck, when I pray, I pray something like this:
"Hey god, It's me, Liz again, I know you get alot of prayers and all, and I hope i'm not being a bother or anything, but, I'm having this problem, and I need some help.. Help would be nice. but, if you can't help me, I understand, you're a busy guy, i'm sure you could help someone else who's in alot more trouble than I am. So yeah.. Hope you're having a great day. Amen"
{YEAH, I TREAT PRAYERS AS PHONE-CALL-MESSAGES..}

then other times, I'm more serious with my prayers, but I won't go into detail about that.
