Description
Britannic departs from her "base" of "Mudros" and sets off back to Southampton while a battleship watches her departure, a bit disappointed of her leaving. You can imagine how different the port would look with Britannic around!IDK! XD

How did you get this model to float? I tried getting models of Titanic to float but they keep on rolling over.

You need weights on the bottom

Well the ship weighs around 3lbs.
I actually have no set weights, there's literally rocks being used.
But what I found on my 1/350 models (this doesn't apply to smaller ones like the 1/570) is that the use of a magnet, or something much denser is a good thing to put amidships so it stays balanced, so it doesn't roll over as easily.

There are no Britannic models, It was modified, but I couldn't go the easy way there either, since the brass conversion sets are impossible to find. The extra pieces were borrowed from other models, or scratc built.

you did a good job of it, those davitts can be 3d laser printed for the 1:350 kit but are very expensive

Thank you, they are actually spare cargo cranes from a previous model, and they can lower lifeboats as well! All are movable , including the rudder...it is true that they turned very slowly.

Do you remember the name of the model you got the cranes from?

It was just an old Titanic model of the same scale, which was also a Britannic model. It had gotten beaten up, and I decided to just redo the model, rather than repair it, since my modelling skills had improved by then.

She was decommissioned for a short time after her third voyage, but she was brought back in later.
She probably would have sunk in 1917/18 if not in 1916, since unrestricted submarine warfare let u-boats sink hospital ships without warning.

Indeed.
She was known as the best hospital ship in the war, and the only other ship that could carry more patients than her was Aquitania.
