Oh my yes! The story I referred to is a children's story in the U.S. It won the Caldecott Medal for excellent writing and illustrating. It's the story of Max (a little boy) who misbehaves and gets sent to his room. He imagines sailing across the ocean to The Land Of The Wild Things. Your picture just reminds me of Max (mainly the spiky hair). Max's hair is very similar to that.
