Wow... thats really heavy when you think about it... I dont think people really understand what Jesus went through for us. A-And what He couldve done to save Himself from His pain and suffering... all He had to do was say the word and the very people that hurt Him would be dead... yet He loved us enough to go through one of the worst and most painful deaths ever....
John 3:16
Awesome job. Its going on my fav list.

Thank you so much for your comment. Indeed the ultimate price he paid in order to save us was His Son. That to me is the gift of all gifts!

Thanks very much! I think I've slightly improved on this technique however not much in my opinion. But the message is more important than the overall picture it think. Thanks again

WOAH!!!!
Now that is one powerful image!!!!! Quite a remakable theme to be working to and you executed it well! Excellent composition and choice of stock. I wouldnt image that Golgotha would have been the most pleasant environment and you have definately captured that feeling.
Keep up the great work!

I've always wanted to do a piece concerning Golgotha/Calvary/Crucifixion. I guess this is my interpretation of how "it could have been". The quotes is actually taken from a song that I have learned and memorized ever since I was a little child. I was thinking about that song and wanted to turn it into a piece. As I was working on this I realized that He indeed could have done something about it but instead He chose to die for us because He loves us. So this piece really means a lot to me. Thank you for taking a look at it!

Its funny you should say that -- because that is what "The Last Temptation of Christ" is all about. I know that its still a very controversial book and film...but to me it serves as a re-affirmation of faith if one is Christian. Even if one isnt there are powerful messages there.
That Christ had a choice...and knowing all that he did about what he faced he still chose to give his life so than mankind would be saved...
He could have had a wife and a family -- as someone of his age would have been expected to do in ancient society, he could have done any number of things for the sake of a mortal life...
The film is about his moments on the cross. He is faced with every possible temptation amidst his incredible suffering and still he will not let go of what he feels is his divine purpose...
<~not a Christian anymore, but almost became an Anglican priest...
Sorry for the rambling but your comment sparked it LOL!!

haha no problem. I am an SDA Christian and I do too believe that He could have indeed done all those things but because of His love for mankind, He chose to save us. He is the ultimate example of how we should live life. Even though He was afflicted, He still forgave even those who afflicted Him. He saved EVERYONE and just a group of people but all we have to do is accept that gift that He already gave. Because of that lies my hope of a better life other than this one on earth when He comes back. I know I'm not worthy of that gift and it amazes me how He could forgive a person like me over and over again without losing any patience. That's what I'm thankful for. Thank you also for letting me express my feelings here. I know everyone has preference and choises but these are mine. Thanks very much!

*HUGGLES*
No problem hun -- if everyone kept an open mind and could have a reasonable discussion then the world would be a much better place.
I subscribe to the view that all paths are a part of the answer but no one path has all the answers...and I am happy to read and study as much as a can to reaffirm what I believe and to keep my mind open to possibilities I might not have considered....
I respect everyone's right to their own beliefs
