My contribution to the substrata artbook. www.autodestruct.com/substrataβ¦A sort of semi-mayan themed Wurm god of deception and death.
I wanted to create a creepy combination between something human, godlike and monstrous. This is what came out!

Oh god. I'm a huge mythology lover, history lover, and fantasy/horror lover. So this caught my eye right away. I would love to see more! This is really beautiful (in the yay horror way) stuff!

I recently saw some art for Castlevania and I LOVED it man *-* it's just.. I don't know, it does something with me.. Β hahaha! I don't know how this one would fit in with what I saw in the art though

Wow. It's definitely a creepy combination. It kind of reminds me of some of the creatures seen in Spirited Away. Wonderful work, though. It is beautiful (in a mildly terrifying way) and very unique.Β

I did have a bit of Miyazaki in my head while working on this, but I didnt think of any specific creature of his movies

I hope this was taken as a compliment, because his characters were genuinely creepy in that movie. The mask is beautiful, which makes what is behind it all the more unnerving.

They're a bit creepy yeah xD I love them though, the emotionless-ness that comes with having no eyes or a straight face is unnatural and scary in many cases.
