Some tower shield concepts I made for a series of illustrations I will be doing for a commissioner.
This is one and the same shield, in its different tiers/forms. As the character in the illustrations travels she becomes stronger, and so does her inherited shield.
Just like the girl will evolve and eventually grow wings, as she is of celestial/godly descend, so does the shield grow bigger, more beautiful and elegant and gets decorated with an angel.

My commissioner never asked me to make this set of concepts for the shield. I made these simply to save myself some pain in the ass and time, as well as to work on my concept art abilities ^^
I figured, since I have to draw her in the future as well and her shield would have to upgrade every time, I should do myself a favor and design them all beforehand. This way I won't have to go back every single time and figure out a way to make it look better... which just asks for failure. By designing them all at once I could at least keep them as a visibly evolving series.

So yeah, some fancy (and sexy) shields
