Thank you so much for your kind words, I'm glad to receive such a response from the audience.
Yes, you are right about the dragons, but I found it out after finishing the picture and planned to make corrections over time, but I still didn't. Obviously I'm one of those procrastinating artists...

I really do not know how I didn't see this one sooner....I'm kind of speechless. I am trying to learn digital art, and to tackle a scene so detailed is unfathomable to me at my current level of ability. That aside...now that I've seen what you've done with Gondolin, I know what I'd ask you for if you were open to commissions (paid, if I can afford you!). In our fanfic the entrance to the harbor of Alqualondë is marked by an almost-archway composed of the raised wings of two impossibly large stone swans. Think not-quite-Argonath, but swans. Each swan rests at the terminus of a breakwater, and beneath them the swan-ships cross the bar into the very large harbor. There are other imagined details, but those are the essentials. If it appeals at some point, let me know.
But back to this piece. What Annamare said, but..this is just astonishing. The balrogs, the fountain in the background, the sense of death and chaos and great beauty facing its destruction. So, so well done. I kind of have to ask what program you are working in and how long you've been doing this? You are going to be the Tintoretto of fandom art...after this what scene is too complex?

Oh my God, nobody has compared me to Tintoretto yet - thank you for that
I have been making art for a long time, but I was mainly engaged in traditional black and white graphics. I got a tablet about 6-7 years ago, and my graphic soul seemed to feel lack of color pictures, which I begun painting and have been painting since then. This work took quite a long time due to the abundance of characters and architectural elements: something about a month and a half, in the evenings in my free time. Mostly I draw in PS or in the graphics editor that my friend programmer developed for his website: all these beautiful translucent waves and curls, as barlog's flame or Ulmo's hair, are taken from his brushes.
Your idea with Alqualonde sounds very exciting and very interesting to be implemented visually, I think I will let you know when I'll be free in time, and you could tell me about your idea in more detail.

This is wonderful work!! The amount of detail in battles is so hard to do, and you captured it so well. I love the armour, and the firelight.
One minor point about dragons though (because I made exactly the same mistake when painting the fall of Gondolin) is that Morgoth didn't let loose any winged dragons until much later, at the War of Wrath, so the dragons here should be wingless fire-drakes like Glaurung. But I think we can claim artistic licence - winged dragons are more exciting and dramatic to draw!

oh really???
and I have already imagined in colors how flying dragons were destroying Turgon's tower...
Thank you so much, dear Annamare, for the information and for your kind words, please let we'll justify my mistake with female desire to dramatize everything

I think the scene I imagined was very similar to yours!! It is nice to picture dramatic scenes, and I enjoy looking at your dragons fly...

This must have taken a long time to paint, there are tons of details! It gives a good picture of the chaos of that event. Great piece. I'll share this on Tumblr if that's OK?

Oh, you're right, it took a lot of time, thanks for the winter holidays - I could finally finish it.
As for the Tumblr - it will be an honor for me. Thanks a lot for your attention!
