The cool tones work well with such a dark atmosphere. It's a very lonely feeling, the feeling of longing almost. I like the cyan color balance as well.

It's a really great photo... I love the composition and the colours used but it's a bit too dark. I think that if it was just a teenie weenie bit lighter then it would be easier to distinguish...
