Description
Rogue and Gambit are my all time favorite characters from the X-Men comics. I looked off of a perfume add for the faces but I had to alter Gambit's face alot because the guy in the picture looked WAY to fem to be him. Her arm looks dark because she is wearing her gloves (confused some people with that one). The whole point of the picture for me is that they still are not touching. Gambit looks kind of lost in the moment completely trusting Rogue with is eyes closed. Rogue, on the otherhand, seems very aware of were she is. Her eyes are open and she seems fairly hesitant to be even this close to him, though she wants to be.Related content

Great picture... though, personally, I think Rogue deserves better than Gambit.
I mean, lets face it, nine times out of ten the guy has left her high and dry and vanished whenever he felt like it. Whenever SHE does something to him she's always depressed and begging for forgiveness but he doesn't seem to give a rip
Plus, I'm sick of the X-Comics never GOING anywhere with their relationship <_<

I REALLY like the gloves. I always thought women looked beautiful in gloves, they're so classy and elegant, but maybe that's just me. Nice pic.

This is pretty nicely rendered. What are the original dimensions? And is it graphite or charcoal? I'm kind of getting back into graphite, but I loathe charcoal with every fiber of my being.

umm...the page is a little bigger than 8.5 x 11...I can't really remember...It was done in pencil during my Anthropology class (still passed though ). I like drawing in pencil and charcoal...i think working with charcoal reductively is easier than pencil though.

It's beautiful. I love the tenderness of the entire pictures and the media you used (I think it's pencils) greatly emphasizes it. I love Gambit and Rogue!

Thanks!!! I can't remember what the add was...I think it may have been a Calvin Klein "Eternity" add because I found another add with the same girl (I think) that I'm planning on drawing next. I would be happy to send you the origional picture through e-mail or something so that you can draw it. Great gallery by the way!

I loved how this picture seemed so intimate without them even kissing, kinda the reason why I knew the reference would be perfect for Rogue and Gambit. The first thing that caught my eye about it was that she had her eyes open while he doesn't. That really made me think of Rogue and Gambit because even if she lost her powers she would still be very aware of where she was in relation to him, where as Gambit would just go for it without thinking twice (which he has proven in the past).

Hm...To make it clearer that she's wearing gloves, I'd suggest taking the detail of her fingernails and veins away. At least the top where it seems like the glove has been vacume-sealed to her hand. Also, creases at the wrist, even though it's not bent, would show the presence of fabric. Even when a limb has been straightened out, the fabric around it still keeps its creases. Just look at the knees of your pant legs or the elbows of long sleeves to see what I mean. The seams on the fingers are pretty telling though.
And the white streak in her hair should be lighter than the rest, even when it goes into shadow. Either lighten up the streak as it moves further down her hair, or darken the rest of her hair comparitively. We don't want her signature look fading away, now do we?
Please don't take these too personally. I'm just trying to help you out. I don't mean to be harsh.

Oh, no, suggetsions are great! I love getting them. Thanks a lot! The only thing with her hair though is that I wanted to make the white streak shorter than the rest of her hair. I should probably make the ends of the streak cleaner, though, to make that come across better. When I had her white bangs the full length of her hair I was told she looked like the Rogue from the movie and Anna Paquin's Rogue isn't my favorite incarnation of the character. But, yeah, thanks again for the comment and the suggetsions!

i used pencil for this but the new version was tweeked on my computer to make it darker. Thanks for the tips! It is just supposed to be a shadow on her neck so I'llfix that. Thanks for the comment!

Maybe try flipping them forward a bit, to frame her jaw, instead of sweeping back with the rest of her hair. See, the longer bit is being held back by her shoulder, but shorter bangs are more likely to hang farther forward, since nothing's holding 'em back.

I was going to click on a new page, but then looked at "Newest Deviation" and said "Is that R&G? I'm so there!" Very nice shading, maybe you could bump up the contrast, make the blacks blacker. It still makes me sad there's not Gambit in the movies

I'm sad he wasn't in the movies too but I wasn't too happy with what they did with Rogue so I think it was a good decision to keep him out.
