After barely escaping being eaten by Ghost Roaster, Grim Creeper invites Danny to join him in his studies. Since the whole purpose of the inter-dimensional road trip was to learn, Danny went along. They became fast friends and usually team up on ghost hunts.

Grim was intrigued by Danny's half dead status and wanted to learn more. He did go to a school for ghost hunting, so Danny's family business was right up his ally. Grim is good friends with the Fentons and offers his aid whenever Danny needs more combat practice or a more educated warrior on ghosts. Although the ghosts in Amity Park are much different than those in Skylands.
