Description
"Butterflies in Winter"

So named because I went with a greyer winter coat on the deer so the butterflies would pop better.
My art teacher actually came up with the name, I liked the way it sounded, and so it is.
The lighting here wasn't preferable when I took the photo, but there is snow everywhere now so I
won't be able to take it out in the sun for better photo's until it gets dry outside again.
I love deer, especially the white tail deer that are so plentyful around my town.
They're so accustomed to the peace around here they aren't afraid of people, I've passed them many times in the parking lot, had them peek into my windows
and nearly walk up on them in the field and on the trails. They'll snort and stomp to let you know they're uncomfortable if you wind up too close.
Though most of the time they're pretty chill, they just watch you walk by. Like "Oh its just a human continue grazing ladies." lol.
I can recognize some of them. One of the does here actually had twins 3 years in a row!!
I got to watch them all grow up, which has been so neat. Haven't seen any bucks around here though. They seem to be more elusive.

Don't bother trying to figure out the species of the butterflies only a few of them are real, the ones that are are likely exotic, one is a moth, and the rest are off the top of my head or a mix match of two species.

Anyway SO proud of this piece in general though <3 <3 my art took a leap with this piece.

Done on big ass sized paper (I can't remember exact size but it comes up to my knees)
with Prismacolor colored pencils.

I actually showed this one off in the yearly art show we had at the studio on the 6th of December 2015.
