Melchior makes the Rainbow katana after you have both the Rainbow Shell and the Sunstone. (I usually got the Sunstone first, so it took a while to realize you needed both.) You can also steal an extra Prism Helm and Prism Dress from Queen Zeal's hands each time you fight her, so if you have Melchior make helms you can get enough Rainbow gear for the whole party (Magus has better) in one play through.

you mean going trough the dark omen a lot of times?, i'd love to be level 99 but nah... i finished lavos + lavos core + lavos final form with stone armor and the 3 helms... Ayla, Chrono & Frog got the job done quite nicely n.n, anyway thanks for the info... i played CT on Psone, SNES emulator and now in DS... and I'm dissapointed with all the changed dialog of the DS version n.nU

Even though the Dreamseeker is a stronger weapon, nothing quite beats the critical-hit badassery of the Rainbow. Glad to see it hanging on the wall of greatness.
