"I'm Doctor Robotnik! I touch what I want!"A practice sketch of this sexy beast which I finished off.
Someday, I would like to make a 10-30 minute long fan animation thats a crossover Adventures of Sonic the Hedhehog with Sonic Boom. With AoSTH scenes animated in Adobe Flash and Boom scenes animated with Source Filmmaker. Even with 2D characters over 3D environments are planned.
While I have drawn Dr. Ivo Robotnik from AoSTH before, never really done a proper picture of him. So not bad for my first proper attempt. I hope I'll have what it takes to animate him someday.
I always wonder what Dr. Robotnik from AoSTH would think of Dr. Eggman and his methods, given they're both villains in a cartoon show catered for a young audience yet drastically different from one another. I have a rough script in mind for the whole adventure.
(That is, if RatchetMario ever uploads his Sonic Boom models to Source Filmmaker workshop. He will... right?)

I completely agree. It makes me sad that the quality of comedy that Sonic Boom sets the bar at for the modern audience.

Thats not the problem I am concerned with.
My concern is that cartoons like Teen Titans GO!, Ben 10 reboot, PowerPuff Girls reboot and even Sonic Boom set the standards of comedy for the impressionable minds of todays youths to impose to be funny.
Such as fart jokes which at least TTGo! and PPG are guilty of. Who finds fart jokes funny anymore? Didn't they stop being funny after the 80s?
Now, I won't critisize those who genuinely enjoy the show. I myself found a few TTGo! episodes where if I let go of my prejudism and nostalgia and found a rare few episodes to actually be funny. I guess it's the "infinite monkey" theorem given they keep making episodes so a few of them are bound to be good ones eventually.
But it feels like modern cartoons just try to appeal to what's funny just for kids than know what's funny for a more wider audience in their aimed demograph.
I often compare Sonic Boom to AoSTH in comedy, animation and commitment to a good Sonic cartoon for kids. People ragged on AoSTH for it's quality or consider it a footnote in comparison to SatAM. It didn't try to be funny, if anything mostly cartoon slapstick but it still got good laughs most of the time all the while balancing itself as an adventure hero cartoon. And despite the animation being a bit weird you can still tell a lot of effort was put into making the seres. Because of this it is a pretty quality cartoon, not up to scratch with it's later DiC cartoons but still it appealed to a younger audience, was relatively funny and well paced, had good stories, some of them pushing to sentimental and was a good cartoon.
Sonic Boom has none of that. It's comedy feels force to the point of dating itself (and already showing signs of age if you rewatch the episodes) because of it's budget they had to recycle models and contents and restrict the stories to island life while in AoSTH Sonic had all of Mobius and new people to meet in almost each and every episode and of course it didn't last more than two seasons while AOSTH had the more episodes.
Honestly, they should of just made Sonic Boom entirely about Dr. Eggman and just leave it at that given most episodes were Eggman centered and ironically the bad guy was more entertaining to watch.

But yeah, I miss cartoons like AoSTH around. But with Sonic in OK KO I hope things will turn around for Sonic on TV.

Thank you. I too enjoy this version of Dr. Robotnik. Sure he's a slapstick villain, but better than Sonic Boom Dr. Eggman for kids cartoon villains.
