I would be blaming lag there... Last time i tried minecraft multiplayer, i had at least 10 000 ping (stuff i did and what happened to me had at least 10 seconds delay)

Since you like mushrooms a lot, i'll tell you a funny thing:
Theres a server in Minecraft called OmegaCraft and Mushrooms are drugs, and they can make you go high, and they make your chat sound weird
like lets say you say "Hi i'm bob"
it would mix up the letters, so it would change to "mh 'mib oBb"

I also tackled 2 enders, 2 skeletons, a spider, a couple zombies, and apparently a creeper that blew up behind me, all at once u:
