Ikki got a slight redesign tweak regarding his wings. Ani/ Ahsi (still debating which name. Lmk what you guys think) get an appearance because I don’t draw her nearly as much as Mara.

1. Nomad wings- a loose term to describe those with large enough wings to take flight for long distances. These bat folk are the closest resembling ancestors due to the ancestors traveling from island to island to get enough food sources. Their wings are generally bigger than their body’s span for each wing and their muscles are stronger and adapted to take flight for long periods of time. In trade however, they can be rather cumbersome to take flight in tight spaces.

2. Land wings- Another loose description. Land wings are more of the common folk wings. Over time, civilizations that have lived on land for multiple generations where the need for large wings are not as necessary. They still have bulky enough wings to take some flight off the ground, but not enough to stay in flight for long periods of time. Children of nomad wings follow under this until they grow older where their tails and wings expand.

3. Diver’s wings/ sea wings- Only found in sea faring groups, these folks have adapted their wings so much that they no longer can take flight off the ground. Because of their continuous exposure swimming, these wings are more adapted to assisting in movement underwater. Their wings are much stronger to resist currents and their membranes are akin to fins.
