Your phone has finally reached zero battery.

It is gone.

And that blasted Hanji has probably lost herself trying to reach the park for your meeting with her. You love Hanji as a friend, but she is always late to everything. Knowing her, she’ll probably be late to her own funeral.

Crossing your arms over your chest, you sigh and look at the other people that populate the park at this hour. There is a young couple - probably a college couple -, a family of five, a lady out on a jog, and a father pushing a baby carriage in front of him.

He seems quite young to be caring for a child, but he is doing a pretty good job of keeping the baby calm. The man shuffles closer and closer towards your spot on the bench. You can hear him whisper to the child, “Sh, Levi, stay calm, you’re fine.”

The baby in the carriage slowly stops crying and looks up at his father. “Stay calm, Levi, you’re fine. Nothing’s going to bother you.”

You are impressed. It was rare to see a lone father with his child and managing to calm down the child with such ease. The man only continued to repeat the words, “stay calm” and eventually he started saying, “don’t explode,” as well.

At that moment, your phone vibrates. Somehow, the device hung on to one percent of battery just to let you know that Hanji won’t be able to make it to the meet. “Great,” you huff.

Standing up, you pass by the father and the child, presumptuously, named Levi.

“Sir, might I say you do very well with your child. He’s very well behaved.”

His grey eyes manage to pierce your own. “Lady, I’m Levi,” he replies with a snort.
