This is a beautiful design for an aquatic dragon!Β
The only portion of this design I find aesthetically questionable are the tentacle style horns on its head. I find them...unbalanced compared to the rest of the smoothness of the design. Personally I might have removed them or else added some form of a forehorn that would help the balance of his head. Of course then you get more drag...
I can't wait to see more dragons from you! Outside the traditional designs for dragons are my absolute favorites! Especially ones that takeΒ
them out of their standard elements (ie: underwater!) or when their designs take after birds or raptors instead of lizards!
(I must confess it very much reminds me of PacRim...If their kaiju were much nicer. And a great deal more refined!)

Also! I know it's a little off topic but have you seen the design for Smaug? Breath taking! And a very traditional take if you look at Tolkien's original artwork for the Hobbit. Did you know he was actually a literary scholar of the Beowulf poem? And the section about Smaug is based entirely off the section of the poem about Beowulf's Bane (the dragon was never given a true name.) right down to the stolen cup starting it all!
You should read the article they have about it. There much better at explaining it then me!

I just want to say though, I FREAKING LOVE THIS.
She looks so elegant and calm/peaceful! I really love the pose and setting as well, and as usual, such lovely cell shading!! I love that you got her stocky anatomy just right, also!
