Monster 002 - Dune Ripper
Biome: Desert - Animal Base: Wildcard - Traits: Shell, Horns, Bone
The Dune Ripper feeds exclusively on meat and is not particular about what it eats. It will attack and devour anything is senses in its territory, even if it's recently fed. The hard outer carapace of this creature gives it the appearance of an arthropod, however the dune ripper has a dense internal bone structure that makes it tremendously heavy. This added weight helps it easily plow through desert sands as easily as a whale swimming in water. The horns extending from the front of its face are sets of modified mandibles that help it burrow and are used to gore prey. They also assist in guiding food to the smaller mandibles for feeding. Dune Rippers are large, reportedly 15 to 20 feet or possibly longer. A full specimen has never been seen completely out of its burrow, so these are only estimates. Further research is required.
