Description The MPT, or "empty", is a ubiquitous model of bulk-transport vessel consisting of an Alcubierre-White ring drive (1) with six modular girders on either end. Cargo containers, shielded habs, and server farms suitable for transporting uploads may be attached as needed.
When exiting warp, a specialized pool of smartmatter on the ring's inner surface reconfigures itself to capture the residual kugelblitz for use as a power source.
This model is designed for travel between highly settled systems with infrastructure for the production of negative mass. In "offroad" models, a Vacfac array (2) spans the inside of the ring, except for the center, which is reserved for kugelblitz capture.

The geometry of the metric is slightly different from original specifications. In order to prevent a destructive release of energy either when the bubble collapses or during warp travel, the front is modified to create a focal point to collect everything the bubble sweeps up. This results in the creation of a residual Kugelblitz, or a black hole that is formed mostly or entirely from energy, which may be collected for later use in a Hawking Farm or other radiation harvesting device. An inner bubble with an asymptotically flat interior acts as a shield from both the radiation swept up by the outer bubble and the increased virtual pair production that comes with highly curved space. This is raised first and lowered last, for the protection of the vessel being transported.

A Vacfac uses nanofilm Casimir plates to generate negative energy. In sufficient densities, this is equivalent to negative mass.

Ulyanov is the fourth planet in the Benetsnasch system. It is named after the anarchist hero Aleksandr Ulyanov, and not his younger brother.
