Well, I'm not the cosplayer, but I can tell you that he basically bought some tubing, glow plugs, switches, a standard AA battery, and some flash paper. He wired up a glow plug to the battery with a switch in the middle so he could activate it on demand, and put a tube over the glow plug. He'd then stuffed the tubing with flash paper. He'd press the switch, the glow plug would heat up, and the paper would explode out.

Well, you will have to be a bit careful with it. He tried setting it off once, and it didn't go off. He thought it was compacted too much, and then as he moved his arm around it went off at his face. So uh, yeah, just be careful with it and it'll work fine.

Yeah, he actually made his own little hand cannon with some glow plugs , tubing, and flash paper. It was pretty awesome
