Okay, so I have (and have not yet completed
) a fanfiction on muppetcentral called Our Sweet Sound, focusing on The Electric Mayhem. A while ago I did this, the first "page" of what it would be, were it a comic...because in my head I see it as in "issues" or "episodes"I'm obviously not going to continue this project XD (the art, not the story) But I've already started toning, so I'll update this when it's done.
But I'm actually pretty proud of this. I'm not good at laying out comic pages >.<

Mm, I did this one page years ago...I really don't have time to do the whole comic now, but maybe every now and then, if I get the inspiration, I'll do another page or two.

I absolutely love the take you had on the origins of the Electric Mayhem and how you centered it on Janice, who's pretty much my favorite member of the band (with Zoot coming a close second)

lol, i agree, Janice is a very interesting character ( having to be the only girl amongst 4 guys, she must have the patience of a saint! XD)
your story is actually the one that actually got me all interested in muppets and the electric mayhem and even helped me get rid of my artist's block (of course, now i can't stop drawing muppets, good grief)

To tell you the truth, your story was when i was first exposed to the Electric Mayhem as actual characters and not just the band that plays in the background like in the recent Muppet Movies. And now, i can't seem to get enough of them, especially (since i'm a sap for romance) the relationships Janice has between Zoot and Floyd. Way way way more fun and adorable to watch than Piggy trying to woo Kermit. Honestly, even now i still harbor affection for the zoot and janice pairing, they were so sweet together during the first season of the show!
by the by, just to let you know, have you heard of the new Muppet comic series they'll be doing after they finish Muppet King Arthur? It's going to be Muppet Snow White, and i'm sure you'll recognize the dwarves they got on the cover!

Yeah, I have no idea what I wrote, and that's the worst XD But sadly, new chapter will have to wait until at least the beginning of may x.x Silly college and silly cosplay.
Woah, really? o.o Yay, I'm glad that my story did something! I agree, it is a lot more fun, especially because you don't know that much about them so you can make up whatever you want ^^ I still like Zoot and Janice too o.o (But I'm a little more then eager to write the whole breaking up bits...heeee...)
I have heard of it and I have a few issues ^^ I haven't really been keeping up with it though, but if I see it at the store I'll pick it up. I love the art but...I don't know why I can't get into it

personally, my favorite comic so far was Muppet Peter Pan. They had Janice as Wendy and she was beautiful in that role, esp. when she met the Hippin' Groovy Tribe.(now i wonder who on earth they could be? 
I'm filled with suspense at how you'll handle the love triangle you got so far. Obviously hearts weren't broken beyond repair, but it'll be interesting seeing the inevitable breakups and makeups that'll follow, and how everything in the end will turn out for the best. (but gosh, i still can't help but feel sorry for zoot for losing the "perfect girl". if only they could clone Janice, then everybody would be happy!

I like the first ones that they did, where they're in the theater. I like the ones now where they're doing the stories, but, I dunno, I just love backstagey stuff.
I have to be honest...I love writing sad angsty stuff XD But I have to remember my audience, so I'll try not to make it -too- terrible XD Even I'm not sure how the friendships will be repaired! It will be a surprise XD
I learned how to trick the projector into thinking that it's not nine at night, so we can watch anime late into the night XD That's useful!

if i may be permitted to ask the author, will we be seeing any adventurous action in the future of the story? (well, the electric mayhem and action together is a bit of a stretch, but it'd be nice to see how the usually unruffled band members deal with a crisis. actually, if you think about it, apart from animal, they're pretty much constantly mellow despite the insanity of the Muppets. lol )

actually, i haven't read any of the Muppet Show comics yet, so i can't quite say if i like them or not. I do like what i've heard of the 4 part story arc The Treasure of Peg Leg Wilson, with Animal acting not like his Animal-ish self as one of the subplots. I absolutely loved the Electric Mayhem variant cover that was shown here on deviantart. I do wish though, that Mr. Langridge would include Lips sometime and have Janice play her guitar. (so far she's only been playing the maracas and tambourine. C'mon Mr. Langridge! give the girl her guitar and let her do what she does best!)
lol! sneaky! if you can, pop in the Muppet Show from time to time, i bet it'd be awesome to be able to pretend you were really in the Muppet Theatre watching the show!
and wow, 3 cosplays? no wonder you've been busy! conventions are always fun, it's great meeting fellow fans and seeing the insane costumes and accessories there.

In all seriousness, try a kidnapping? Ever since watching the episode where Janice gets kidnapped by wild boars and sings "I get by with a little help from my friends" i just can't help but wonder if this has happened before.

lucky, i never see any of the comics, period. there aren't any comic shops near me, so i only have barnes and nobles for my comic needs.
hmm, if you think about it, in those days, women in the music industry were only known for singing and dancing. Back then, a girl on lead guitar of a rock and roll band was kinda unheard of. i wonder if Janice ever had any negative criticism from not just the audience but from other musicians as well. Brave girl... I'm pretty sure any other band would've made her just settle for singing and dancing and looking pretty.
lol those chorus girls had such pretty dresses. Although i can't help but laugh at Janice's wig when she was wearing the costume. she really got into character when she changed her accent for the first season XD
i envision myself more as one of the backstage hands, maybe someone working the ticket booths. (i love singing and performing but i get terrible stage fright)

I think I actually did have something planned with Janice...but I don't remember :/ I think she was in this hospital or something? I have a writing down problem...where I think of great ideas, usually while I'm in bed or in class, and forget to write them down so they go away...
Aah :/ I got the first ones off Amazon, but I found a store near my college that stocks them, though I have to hunt (hah) because they're unorganized.
She probably did :/ I imagine not from the clubs that I wrote them playing in, 'cause those are the ~cool~ people who are all for equality, but once the show started going...nyaww.
I want to make one of them XD Actually, it seems like a lot of people don't think that's Janice then because of the wig XD

yeah, she'd probably get flak for not acting "lady like" enough. although it would be interesting seeing Janice learning how to become a proper lady, ala "My Fair Lady" and "Princess Diaries". Most likely Sam would be in charge of educating her and the poor bird would get a fit trying to get rid of her valley girl accent.
Imagine Janice in an actual dress and singing onstage like that! she'd probably sweep the audience and a fair share of the males off their feet, enough to make a certain lady pig a little miffed. (of course once everyone's convinced that Janice is indeed a lady, she goes back to being the rocker she is, lol)
ha! how can they not recognize those lips and eyes? plus she wears the costume and wig a couple times while dancing with Zoot in the At the Dance sketches. ( they were so ADORABLE in those! *dies in a puddle of squee* )
speaking of lips, can't wait to see him enter the story!
lol, behind the scenes stuff is awesome. people out in the audience have NO IDEA what sorts of chaos and awesomeness goes behind the curtains and in the wings. sometimes you wonder how they ever managed to put on a show in the first place! XD
well that makes it something to be even more in awe of (i haven't taken any sewing lessons neither so i can never manage to stitch in a neat straight line x_x )

There was this one sketch where they didnt't have any lines, but you could see Zoot and Janice in the background, and she was wearing his hat and I melted <3
I've already had, um, requests to make slight hints of Zoot/Lips XD We'll see how that goes.
I think that might be another reason why I love that show so much, because I love anything to do with behind the scenes. But I haven't seen it in quite a while, I need to have a marathon in the summer of watching all three seasons, and praying to the DVD gods for the fourth XD

i'd actually like to see a panicked zoot all yelling and trying to figure out what's going on and stuff, maybe even in the heat of the moment take charge. (of course when all the adrenaline has died down and everyone's all safe and sound, he'd zonk out for the remainder of the day)

Sadly, i can easily picture Janice in an accident, she's just so spindly and frail looking. Of course i know full well that she's a tough girl and probably knows how to fend for herself, but still...
i figure that if janice ever got into an accident, all her friends would put flowers into her room to make it feel less like a hospital room and more like an indoor garden.
She'd play her guitar (if she can still play and didn't injure her arms or hands) and entertain and reach out to other hospital patients during her stay.
people in gorilla suits are scary, gorillas by themselves are kinda sweet. Then again, you might as well take the portable Banana Sharpener with you to defend yourself from rogue gorillas that the Gorilla Detector might detect.
Oh a backstory idea? like having Janice actually come from a wealthy and somewhat prestigious family?

they were probably the few couples that danced practically cheek to cheek. (the only other couples that danced close were Mildred and George and Piggy with the male pig. maybe wayne and wanda, but i never got a good look at them.)

man it's such a shame that the most we got to hear of Zoot was in the first season, i miss hearing him talk. and my inner fan can't help but think that Janice being paired with Floyd is one of the main reasons why Zoot doesn't talk much anymore. not that he's depressed or anything, but more like Janice was the one who gave him the energy to be a bit more outgoing and talkative. Without her, the energy went as well, and now he's back to his "old" self. Poor Zoot.
oh yeah, WhiteRabbit requested it, didn't she? *shrugs* Those two just seem like buddies to me. Both understand each other and the cosmic happenings of the earth, and i can imagine them just sitting and messing with music and enjoying the silence together. (and discussing girl problems, but that's another story
personally, i like pairing Lips with Trumpet girl. i don't really know why or how, but i just think they'd be cute together. honestly i liked Trumpet Girl and i always wished that she could be written more as a character. Was very sad she didn't appear along with Nigel in Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie.
In the same sense, that goes for the actual backstage and behind the scenes stuff for the Muppet Show and the Muppets themselves. I wish that there were more actual behind the scenes of the Muppet Show. From the few snippets i've seen, it looks hilarious watching all the puppeteers perform their puppets and somehow do the sketch while all crowded together. They all seem to have lots of fun while doing their work, and a job that can make you and your coworkers laugh as well as your audience is a job made in heaven.
And lucky you for getting the DvDs, i have to settle for youtube XD

Yep, that one. I love that story, but ahhhh so sad XD Yeah, she just seems like any accidents that might happen could very well happen around her. But knwing her, shed try to make the best of it!

Yeah, I picture her family being really strict and uptight people. And Janice was the one oddity who actually wanted to do something different, hence why she left home.

Yeah...I was never going to make it into anything big, just a few small...fanservices? Nothing that couldn't be read as just friendship. But yeah, I think of the two as just friends for the most part. I don't know who I want to pair Lips with...I honestly can't see him with anyone x.x He just seems like he's eternally wandering around and seeing the sights.
Yeah, it's actually kind of a dream job to work as a Muppeteer x.x I do love watching those behind the scenes and I only wish there was more. Plus, I wish they actually put that sort of stuff onto the DVDs. The movies I have have nothing, just those stupid Disney inspired..interview things. Gah.

I loved the At the Dance sketches as well. i agree, in show couples are adorable, too bad Piggy's hogged up all the spotlight in the romance department. I would've liked to see more of the Piggy and Annie Sue rivalry, and maybe even have Miss Mousey as a stronger character to compete Piggy with Kermit's affections.
actually, (sorry this is a bit off topic) but i would've liked a scenario where Janice and Piggy switched bodies. Janice struggles with and admires Piggy's ability to be mean and demanding, while Piggy envies Janice's ability to make people genuinely like her. they somehow switch bodies and they agree to pose as each other until the problem gets fixed, causing the rest of the Muppets to be severely confused with their two ladies and for them to realize that they really are best as themselves. (sorry just gotta get that idea off my chest 
actually, i should be apologizing, because looking back at how i worded it, i made myself sound horribly snooty and probably insulting. i'm sorry if i sounded weird and whatever you do, i'm sure to like and enjoy it. (unless it was something incredibly sad, then i'd bawl and cry until the happy parts come back again)
and what's a few fanservices going to hurt? i'm sure WhiteRabbit would be ecstatic at seeing some hints and nudges directed at her.
for some odd reason, i can easily picture Lips as a daddy. (that and he has a striking resemblance to when Steve Whitmire was younger and had crazy frizzy hair.) i had a theory that the reason we don't see lips much was because he was busy taking care of his family but comes in time to time to jam with his friends.
but then again, after thinking over your own theory, i can easily picture that too. Lips must have quite the scrapbook for all the places he's been. (lucky him, i want to travel too! curse my poorness! ;_; )
after seeing how much fun they have, i do too. It's just so fascinating, putting all that acting into only your hand, and being allowed to upstage people and create anarchy.
aw, but if you listen to the DVD commentaries, they usually have hidden gems in there. Like in the Muppet Treasure Island commentary, you get Gonzo and Rizzo talking with Brian Henson.
but yes, not enough behind the scenes to satisfy the starving muppet fan out there. we're so deprived ;__;
another off topic sorta thing here, but i'm trying to draw another Muppets Wizard of Oz except with the Mayhem as the stars.
it came off of watching Muppets go to the Movies on youtube and hearing Janice remark that her favorite movie was Wizard of Oz and that she was going to play Dorothy instead of Piggy (unfortunately, Piggy still was Dorothy, so bummer)
so far i have Janice be dorothy, Animal as toto, Floyd as Scarecrow, Zoot as tinman, Lips as cowardly lion, and Dr. Teeth as the Wizard.
Any ideas or critisisms?

I was never too fond of Miss Mousey, actually. I dunno why. I think she fit better in the specials and in that one song, but after that she kinda lost her charm, but that;s just me

Yeah, I really want to be able to convey so much just with my hand o.o And the anarchy that Jim created is why I love it even more ^^ Aah, mine don't even have the commentary D< All that they're making now is the really cheap versions, so it's hard to find ones with good stuff on them. I know somewhere I have MTI on VHS from when it aired on Disney eons ago, and after the movie they showed a "making of" featurette thing...I need to find it. At the time, though, I was a little scared of the part where they were making the Muppets XD And the music didn't help, because I found it creepy. Now I realize that music is the song that EM plays XD It's also the one song not on the OST and the one I want the most...

I know! when i first saw that i went "NO FREAKING WAY!"
then i read the preview and exploded in happy. It's about time we got ourselves another strong Muppet gal. and she really balances out the other two girls as well with her tomboyishness compared and contrasted with Piggy's diva-ness and Janice's easy and mellow hipness.
ha! that totally would happen! But Janice being Janice, she'd probably help make Piggy feel better by offering her help with her French. and yay for plot!
i'd like to see a situation that calls for someone who knows French and everyone looks at Piggy expectantly, but instead Janice rises to the occasion and blows everyone completely away with her crazy French linguistics.
well like i said, i wished that they had somehow made Ms. Mousey more stronger and memorable as a character. there was potential for her, but sadly it seemed she was a hit and miss.
but yes, Annie Sue was adorable and i liked it when she sang.

lol, just imagine the jaws that'll drop when the other Muppets see a kind Piggy and a cranky Janice, esp. for poor Kermit and Floyd.
i can see Kermit pleasantly surprised and liking the new Piggy while poor Floyd wonders if Janice was mad at him or something. (i think the rest of the band would unanimously agree that Janice was just experiencing "girl moods" and needs a little bit of space for the day)
the girls would have fun posing as each other, methinks. Janice would snag a date with Kermit for Piggy, while Piggy would go buy herself new outfits that Janice would keep once they got back to their own bodies.
after practicing a bit, i wonder how on earth the puppeteers keep from having their hand cramping up. ouch. add an aching arm, shoulder, and back from lifting the puppet and sitting in weird positions, and you have to marvel the dedication and perseverance of these wonderful Muppeteers!
oh boo, i still have the official VHS of Muppet Treasure Island and they didn't have the featurette.
i know right? i thought all the music the Electric Mayhem played were very nice to listen to, and i felt so sad when it wasn't on the OST.
really really wanted both jazz numbers from when they were playing on the ship to the one when Zoot was asking which side they were on.
(and dang, i loved their costumes. They're so much fun to look at with their bright and colorful yet historically accurate wardrobes
