Description Several years after leaving Cerinia and drifting from one place to another, Krystal and her mother arrived on Isoroa 7, a space station that was generally located in the outer reaches of the Lylat system. Despite Isoroa being difficult for most to find - due to a variety of thrusters that lined the faces of the station, pushing it to and fro to avoid certain... visitors - Krystal and her mother happened upon it by chance. It took them by surprise, not showing up on the radar of their antique of a space craft, but rather as a dark, opaque shape that blocked out the stars ahead of them. They moved toward it cautiously and, as they got closer, its appearance became clearer. The station was comprised of several large compartments, all of them connected by dingy looking bridges and all of them made up of what looked like parts of old ships. The inside left much to be desired. Everywhere one looked it was metal, dented and dirty; the only things inside that were organic were the people who passed through. The light was poor and if you weren't careful, you could easily end up lost in the catacomb-like passageways of the station. the inhabitants traveled around in pairs. Those who wandered by themselves were marked as suspicious characters.

Krystal and her mother only stayed in one area. It was the busiest and, for what it was worth, the safer place to be in. They hadn't intended to stay for long, but what was expected to be just a few days became one year, and then another. That fact never bothered Krystal - it was the longest she'd been able to stay in one place and, even though there was no one her age around to be friends with, she entertained herself by deciphering the chatter of passersby during what were known as the "Light Hours."

One day, walking through the small commerce district and passing through one of the functioning lights, Krystal noticed someone. It wasn't because she'd never seen him before - that was a common occurrence; it wasn't because he was by himself - that day there were plenty of people moving about by themselves. Perhaps it was the way the light struck his features, or maybe it was how he regarded her with contempt when he felt her staring. Neither of them knew that a single glance linked them together and that they would meet again one day.

-------------------------------------------------
So I guess this is more of my version of Krystal's story/history/whathaveyou. In short, briefly explaining in generic "fanfic style" where she grew up, how she would eventually know how to pilot a ship and how she is fluent in at least a couple of languages. Here, have a song I was listening to a lot while drawing this: [link]

This is as finished as it's going to be for a while because I'm kind of tired of looking at it :I

No, just a blurb written to go with the picture.

Really like the dark, gritty feeling of this picture. Great job on creating the atmosphere in the written part as well. Don't call it generic, it was much more interesting than 90% of fanfics I've read in style, concept, and execution. Like the foreshadowing of the character, Scales.

In adventures.

After Krystal flees from Scale's ship, he is y himself and has a rare look on his face.

General Scales: Cute Gal, seems familiar.

A brush with fate so to speak.
Interesting concept, after all we were never told to circumstances of the destruction of Krystal's home world. Nor how exactly it was destroyed. But strangely enough, I found another exploring the same time line with his own ideas here: [link] by .

As usual, your artwork is excellent. Great going!

Out of curiosity, are you going into any pices into how Krystal learns to use her telepathic abilities? Think about, if a telepath can get into someones head, said telepath could cause anything between [link] or [link] (only minius the E-brain hacking).

I just had a conundrum. If say a telepath can exist, then why not an anti-telepath? Perhaps this might be the closest to a good example to my question: [link] or this more specifically: [link] .
But I digress.

Lol, I actually wasn't going to do a picture of that, partly because I don't really have any ideas for how it came about. No one in the game ever calls her a telepath and Krystal never really talks about it, so I interpret it as she has these abilities but never really learns to use them. So she would never really get to a point where she can do more than sense certain thoughts and feelings. I'm sure when she was younger she would have just assumed everyone could do it, having had no one to tell her otherwise.

Essentially, she doesn't know her own potential (assuming the games were suggesting that she's the kind of telepath that can do the same things as, say, Professor X). It would also explain why she didn't do much in Assault during fights.

Krystal is introduced as the Starfox teams telepath [link] in Starfox Assault [link] (yes it was not the best game, but what can you do?). With hints that her kind were telepathic as well, but those hints are as yet to be confirmed.

In short, I do think Nintendo has been in decline for a long time (see Chinpokomon [link] And no, I will not dignify it by calling it anything other the derogatory.) Since the early days of N64, and that is my opinion.

Yet I wouldn't mind to see the series be givin a reboot. Only if it would be done correctly. Bungie gave Halo to 343...

As for your explanation...
I could see it fitting. Yet like Professor X, sooner or later she would start to notice something amiss. Then start toying (likely very early in life) with it. The mischief alone would be hilarious, yet the dreams or inner minds of others may easily be terrifying [link]
