Description  Holy crap. So this is the first time in a long time I've really finished writing something for HARPG purposes. I have a lot more planned for her, both in her overall story, but also a couple more pictures featuring her travel home and all that fun stuff.

Anyway, the second half of the art payment for White Out x Faith *SALE PENDING Tb Lineage Sale* , which involves the new owners meeting the mare. Which, technically this is their second meeting, but whatever lol Tbh their first meeting is one of the other pieces I have planned, it just didn't come to me til after this one was like 65% done lol

Nahid is absolutely not meant to look as judgy as she does here lol I just don't have expressions down quite yet.

There were many reasons the average ignorant person would find to call Eris Galloway a crazy person. Even a few were already horse-related - after all, their crazy horse girl phase had continued far into adulthood. But this, this was a new level of crazy.

The mare was a train wreck, even on paper. No, not in terms of conformation - in fact, the mare was quite gorgeous. Realistically speaking, based on her lineage, the mare should have been a star on the racetrack. Not currently throwing an absolute sight of a fit for being forced to show off her movement on the lunge line.

No one could figure it out - the dark blood bay mare was just a bitch, plain and simple. She'd been given the same well-planned and designed care and attention for her breeding and rearing as all of the other foals that got their start at Whimsical Blood Stables. As a matter of fact, the stable was known for turning out well-mannered colts. The owners and breeders, MJ and Dallas, had dreamed of the youngster going on to dominate the track and bring them a tidy sum on the sale to boot. Now they were selling at quite the loss, and had honestly, subconsciously given up on finding the mare a new home.

Which is where Eris came in. She really had no business being here, she thought. This mare was just as likely to kill herself as she was any handler who so much looked in her direction with a bit. But, Eris had come across an old ad for the mare online, and something had drawn them to the mare. They had emailed the owners on a whim after returning to the listing multiple times a day over the course of a week. They hadn't really expected to hear back - the mare had almost certainly sold in the year+ since the original posting. And on the off chance she hadn't, well, she was probably out of Eris' skill range, if she was as bad as the listing said.

But, no, the bay mare was very much still for sale, living out her life as a particularly angry pasture ornament. And now, here Eris stood, the eccentric co-owner of her stable at her side, at the edges of the indoor ring, and watched as the mare practically did a front flip to voice her displeasure about her current situation.

"She is quite spirited," commented Nahid. She looked over at her employee and boarder with a smile and a mischievous glint in her teal colored eyes. Eris glanced over at the elven woman, but their expression remained relatively smooth.

The mare had reacted relatively well to Eris. Originally, they had met through the bars of the small round pen temporarily set up in a dry lot. The mare had been feeling her oats on her own, but slammed her front hooves into the ground and outright screamed the second she noticed the approaching humans. Eris had, immediately, started at the noise. But she brushed off the apologies and concerns of the current owners - Eris may not always handle sudden loud noises all that well, but they recognized that the mare was making a scene because she knew it would scare off the average person. Eris had come to see the mare, though, and if all they managed was to stand their ground on the other side of the pen, then so be it.

The mare scrabbled backward to the opposite side of the round pen, ears pinned and tail wringing. MJ and Dallas approached first, and the mare voiced her opinion by snorting violently. Eris and Nahid approached more slowly, but this did nothing to really placate the mare. Nahid and Eris launched into logistics with MJ and Dallas. To be honest, the current owners were stunned that the other two were still interested. They exchanged confused glances as the small group talked, noting as Eris wandered a bit closer to the mare.

Eventually, the mare had closed the gap on her own. She stopped far enough away so that only her muzzle reached the bars as she stretched out her neck. The mare snuffled hard at Eris, taking in her scent for several long moments. Eris barely had enough time to react when the mare lunged forward, open mouth and teeth bared, as if planning to take off their hand. Eris jumped back but the mare stopped at the last moment, never in danger of actually chomping down.

And now, here they stood, talking prices, terms, and the potential for starting the shipping process as the two were on their way back home.

"This is crazy." This was no question - Eris simply stated this as fact to Nahid. The tanned woman laughed softly.

"I like crazy," replied Nahid. Eris broke into a grin now, then she nodded.

"I'm gonna take her."
