I would be more concerned that at jet speeds the open rotors become a hindrance for the aerodynamics. You can't maintain lift if all the air passes straight through the middle of the wing.

If it is a delta wing the lift at high speed come from the vortex that forms on the leading edge of the wing and not the surface of the wing.Β Otherwise, I agree with you.
