Rather nice, im a vertrain of SpaceScapes...one of my favorite things still to do...
ahem, back on subject
Very nice, but i noticed some things.
First, this has been done to many times (i know your new at this stuff, but) the planet collsion thing...try to think of somthing new and inovative
The textures are pretty nice, but im pretty sure the one on the right is from earth
Like the guy/chick above me said, read that tutorial, it will help alot. Get a scan from like pluto or somthing, then edit it so that you can't notice any shapes that will identify the scan. Then, use some colors in it with the buket tool with a ~20 tollerance.
Also, the lighting is wrong. If the center has 0,0,0 color, then there should be virtualy no shading, because its so bright
There is also a 'black spot' in the bottom right hand corner, try thining up your starfield as well. When you get better at these, try to stray away from the 'noise' filter.
Once you get rather good at these, you don't need any filters, like on my peices, i dont use the inner & outer glow stuff, i make my own.
Very nice for a fourth try though!

I thought I might just drop by and comment.
This is a good start, but you'll need to:
> Work on your textures. You've probably read it already but if you haven't, read `alyn 's Advanced Planet Tutorial . I myself have read it over 50 times.
> Thin out your starfields a little. Try going Ctrl + L = 0.00/0.40/160. I sometimes even do this twice for greater effect.
> Work on the reality of your space pieces. It is not at all feasable that those two planets could be so close without some kind of effect on their atmospheres.
> Work on your planet atmospheres - make the outer glow the same opacity as the inner glow.
Well that's it from me. Hope you find some of what I've said useful.
