Description we had to paint in gouache a toy. lighted with cast shadows in warm light, cool shadows. in my illustration 1 class. now, we could either paint the toy as a still life on a patterned surface, or we could paint the object within a scene. so i moseyed down to the toy store and though... what a great idea paint thomas the tank engine, which i watched and loved years ago, due to george carlin, and ringo starr. and i can give it to my 2 1/2 yr old nephew bryce. he will adore it, for at least a coupla years.. anyway just finished. and class is in two hours.. ugh...

Beautifully done atmosphere! It feels like something from the Railway Series. Great work!

Is there any particular reason why you chose that scene to paint?

I think you did a great job

no not really, i did about eight or nine different roughs of different scenes. then i thought that this scene would be the most interesting, with cast shadows. then i told my aunt about it, cause it is for my nephew/cousin who is two. and she thought it was hilarious cause my nephew carries around a book about the cow being on the tracks. thank you
