ta-daaaaan!A Song of Ice and Fire fanart... or sort of!
I'm sure everybody knows what I'm talking about (the recent HBO serie Game of thrones gave a certain notoriety to the books too), in case you don't know google is your bff!XD
Btw, I started reading the books in 1999 (yes, I'm THAT old!) and now I'm going thrugh a second reading, after more than ten years. It is amazing just like the first time.
So I did this little drawing, rather conceptual, imo: Lyanna Stark with the crown of Queen of Love and Beauy, the crown that Rhaegar Targaryen offered to her, bleeding like in one of the vision Ned Stark had during his detention in the Red Keep.
The moment when it was clear things were going downhill, or something like that, basically...
ah, her right arm looks a little too short, but let's pretend it's the angle, ok? XDDD yay!

I started reading the books after seeing the first two seasons, so I'm wondering; how do you like the show compared to the books? Are there any characters you're especially pleased/displeased with?

Mmmmh, I have to say, I STRONGLY prefer the books to the show. But it is quite obvious with me, since I started reading ASOIF almost 13 years ago!

I also prefer the books, although I am in love with the show. I love the complexity of the books and how even the smallest characters have depth and backstory.
My favourite character is Asha, so I guess we both have a soft spot for Greyjoys. It annoys me though that they changed her name in the show to Yara. But I do love her representation on the show.
Overall I like that they haven't cast the show full of 'hollywood hot' people.

And I love their faith! I just love everything about them. It might be because I'm Norwegian, and it reminds me of stories of my ancestors. Also I've always lived close to the sea, and when I'm away from it for longer periods of time I get sick with grief.

YEAH! I love everything about Greyjoys as well. I get a bit disappointed that Aeron wasn't showed in the second season too!:/ He is one of my favorite too! OH, awesome! I'm italian, mind me, but I love scandinavian tales and folklore and the north of Europa as a whole, so the Greyjoys and Pyke really reminds me of that lands and cultures!

I like how the wreath draws the eye, but it isn't in the center of the picture. It makes this much more interesting.

I've never read this series before, but it sounds interesting, and I've been hearing a lot about it recently, so I think I will.

thankssss! I reccomend you to check out those books, even if "fantasy" isn't your favorite genre. I used to read fantasy books more than ten years ago, but I get bored of them quickly, bored of everything but A song of Ice and Fire 'couse this serie can be hardly considered fantasy... mostly like a medieval saga in a fantasy world. I love how realistic and often crude this story can be!

Well then I really should, I absolutely LOVE the fantasy genre, though most books with good writing and a good story (and usually some good romance) works fine too

thaaaaanks!^^ I'm glad you liked this one. ahah, I confess, I had great fun painting the blood!XD truth is that there is a lot of blood in this serie, not that I'm complaining, I like ASOIAF for its more dark and violent aspects, to be honest!
I'll try to do some other fanarts, I still have to drawn all my favourite characters! (and it is good to know that I'm not the only one following this story from more than ten years now!
