Description

Su-ji, has been driven by Se-ju to an unknown place. It turns out to be a quai, abandoned. Se-ju sits in front of two fishing rods. Su-ji still standing next to him, irritated.

Su-ji: Just try drinking in the daytime... Do you think this suits you!?

Se-ju: Have a seat... Nothing's better than fishing when you want to calm yourself down.

Su-ji: You're unbelievable. You're so good at getting on my nerves.

Se-ju: Talk about yourself.

Su-ji, searching for her cell: I'll take a taxi.

Se-ju, opens a second folding chair next to his: Hey, it will be just one hour.

Se-ju taps on the seat, invitingly. Su-ji sits down after some seconds of hesitation.

Su-ji: Do you even know how to fish? Did you learn it from your dad?

Se-ju, laughing: Are you crazy? Why would I come here with him? If I did, he would have tied a lump of lead to my leg and thrown me into the water long ago.

Su-ji: This is exactly what I want to do now.

Se-ju: This is a perfect place to hide when you want to run from home. Who would think a teenager would go to a place like this? ... This is nice. This is where I learned to drink soju.

Su-ji: Good for you... How many fishes do you want to catch? Just tell me. I'll catch them all.

Se-ju: I don't fish.

Su-ji: What?

Se-ju: It's not just about catching a fish. Fish are over there, and I'm right here. That's just good enough.

Su-ji: You're crazy.

Se-ju: You can leave if you want to.

Su-ji: Didn't you just stop me? Now you want me to leave?

Se-ju: You don't like to be alone unless you're shopping.

Su-ji: You know me too well. That's what bothers me.

Se-ju: You know what? A fisherman asked a bait. "Will you catch some fish?" But the bait ended up becoming friends with a fish. The bait hesitates. Should it get off the safe hook and sink in the water? Or...?

Su-ji: What kind of nonesense is that?

Se-ju: Why do you think [name of other girl] left?

Su-ji: How would I know?

Se-ju: You started to wonder if [name of long term friend] is really into [name of other girl]. So, you gathered them together but ended up becoming the fisherman... What do you think you should do then?... You should tell [name of other girl] that there's no place between the three of us.

Su-ji: What are you doing?

Se-ju: But you failed. Then what would be your last move?

Su-ji: It's not fun. Stop making up a story.

Se-ju: What did you tell her in the swimming pool? [looking at her] You can tell me.

Su-ji: The way you look at me now. What's that?

Se-ju, grinning after a second: My interest.

Su-ji, also grinning after a second: Get lost.

Se-ju, turning his attention back to the rods: Shall we catch one fish? I make good fish soup.

"Tempted", Season 1, Episode 6

----------

I really enjoyed than scene. For so many ways.

If you have the chance to watch the show, or the episode, do it ^^

It's at 19:00 appr.

And yes, Korean names ARE confusing ^^

Su-ji is the young woman, and Se-ju a long-term friend.

Both and another male long-term friend build a (love?)triangle, playing around with innocent people, making fun of them...

It's a modern South Korean version of "Liaisons dangereuses" by Pierre-Ambroise-François Choderlos de Laclos, written in the late 18th Century.
