Like everyone else, Zendaya was a huge fan of the Cybus Earpods. She loved how easy and convenient they were - no more reading or listening to know what was going on in the world, everything she ever needed was downloaded by Cybus right into her brain in the Daily Download. She never took them out, and noticed how much of an improvement they made to her life. What she didn't notice was how much she encouraged people to get a pair of Earpods, or how angrily she reacted when someone disparaged Cybus, or how much more lenient she was with brand deals involving Cybus. She never realised how, with each passing download, Cybus were subconciously moulding her mind to make her easier to control, preparing her for the Ultimate Upgrade.

The time of the Ultimate Upgrade came. Cybus sent out the signal to upgrade to all Earpods, and Zendaya's were no different. They activated suddenly and took control of her brain, placing her into a completely blank trance with no resistance, her brain so open to Cybus control that it let the Earpods in immediately. Instructions and diections were downloaded into her mind, and she turned sharply and began to march robotically towards the nearest Cybus factory.

She sees metal men, Cybermen, a glimpse into her future, but she does not react - the Earpods have a tight grip on her mind, allowing her to have no thoughts or feelings, only obey. Soon she will march obediantly into a Cybus factory with the rest of the controlled population. She will walk without fear, without hesitation to a conversion chamber and step in. She will be upgraded.
