First of all, disclaimer: I don't own any of these franchises, I only used these pictures to make a point without any monetary reasons in mind. This is just a reaction. So I heard that a lot of people are complaining on Tumblr and other social media about this pairing. My response to that is a big fat: "What?!" This is not something new it's been done so many times and by so many cartoons, movies and series that it's a trope at this point.
But my thoughts are that this is all a problem because Jack is a guy, and SJW attack guys much more often then anyone else in their misguided attempt to ruin everything great in the world. So I present you 3 ladies that, through the eyes of SJ, are much bigger offenders that Jack and no one says anything about them:
1) Rose Quartz and Greg Universe - a great couple on the outside except she is thousands of years old and Greg is a normal human. And Rose has been with other men, so in the eyes of SJ, she is a repeat offender.
2) Wonder Woman or Diana Prince and literally any guy she has been in a relationship with: Steve Trevor, Superman, even Batman. She is hundreds if not over 1000 years old and she hangs out with only the most noble and honorable men. Again, through the eyes of a SJW, she is a repeat offender.
3) Arwen and Aragorn, she is an elf and more than 2500 years older than Aragorn. Not much is know about them, except they fell in love and 30 years later(yeah, Aragorn waited that long) she returned his love. That's pretty much all we know about her.
So what is Samurai Jack season 5? Well for all intended purposes it seems like an action romance season. I don't understand why you'd think that there was something more to it, do you guys even know Genndy Tartakovsky's style and work!? The man paved the way for the best cartoons in the 90s and he didn't go for stupid crap like secret bloodlines or shock entertainment. Take that **** back to Game of Thrones!
People are complaining that it's too fast?! Really? You have 10 episodes to establish a redemption arc, pay tribute and cover the old series, establish a relationship, defeat an evil magic tyrant in an epic showdown, and end it in a way where people are satisfied (hopefully). Do you think you can squeeze all that in ten 22 minute episodes with all the battle scenes, montages, character development, even comedy? In 10 freaking episodes?! It's people like you that broke Joss Whedon!
I don't want to get into what I really think is annoying SJW (cough young wife cough) but I can say this to anyone who thinks that this is offensive: all your favorite movies do this, every vampire movie or series has this trope, Wolverine has this trope, Captain America, Fry from Futurama, Thor, even Disney movies like Atlantis: the Lost Empire, Peter Pan, Wreck-it Ralph (Felix and Sargent), Aladdin (Jafar and Jasmine, no chance but at least they showed he was interested). In anime this trope is very common.
I think that the reason we are are not enjoying stories, movies and anything anymore is because studios are pandering to these people who just like to complain, and that is ruining the industry of movies or stories for everyone. And the people who make these movies are slowly starting to realize that caring too much won't bring the money, take Deadpool for example, it didn't care if people felt offended, it only cared about writing a good Deadpool and they made a ton of money.

To be entirely honest the last season has been annoying me again and again. First there was Jack being all doom and gloom. So he lost his sword and needs to get himself out of his slump, alright, might be good. Then they start killing off fun characters or ruining what was pretty clearly a set story line that the people in charge who had previously worked on Samurai Jack had in mind. Jack's going insane, talking to himself throughout half the season and to top it all off, Spoiler alert here, they wait until THE MIDDLE OF THE FUCKING WEDDING TO KILL ASHI WITH THE WHOLE DOESN'T EXIST DEAL!

You uh...you may want to pull Wonder Woman and Superman from your examples. That was a PRRREEEEEEEETY hated decision on the part of the Nu52 and one of the things DC is working to BURY it was so reviled.

These haters, complainers, and fake fans who have nothing to do but be social media and internet trolls are a bane to all writers, authors and fanfic writers. It's people like them that break good story tellers and why many good shows get cancelled. Rather than hating on it, those haters, complainers, and fake fans ought to just make their own stories and leave the writers and authors alone.
There's only so much a writer can show and explain in 10 episodes, and frankly, Gennedy did a terrific job with the limited episodes he has to work with. No romance they protest? It happened so randomly they protest? What nonsense! There were so many hints, clues, metaphors, innuendos and foreshadowing that pointed to the romance and love that was going to blossom between Jack and Ashi and I caught on to it even from the trailers of Season 5. It's those haters', complainers', and fake fans' own fault for not catching on and watching each episode carefully and drawing their own wrong conclusions without having the facts. The way Jack and Ashi interacted with is not a father and daughter relationship or that of a teacher and student. And for the life of me, I can't understand how anyone even came that conclusion with no evidence leading to that. It doesn't add up!
Jack lost everything and his family from his previous life because of Aku and lived more than half a century of continuous fighting and being a wanderer; Ashi never had a real childhood and only lived a cult life filled with lies, abuse, hatred and violence which led to her losing all six of her septuplet sisters and Ashi brought that out against her wicked mother before Ashi killed her to protect Jack. Jack and Ashi needed each other, they protected and saved each other and I think Gennedy did an excellent depicted that in the style he did. Jack doesn't need a daughter figure, he needs a strong and capable woman who'll always love and support him and have his back and Ashi has shown that she's that woman for him. Ashi doesn't need a father figure, she needs a strong man able to love her, guide and protect her and always be there for her.
And it those haters, complainers, and fake fans want to cry age different, then it's a very weak argument that always fall hard on its face: Avatar the Last Air Bender, Terminator, Marvel and DC comics, anime, manga, Twilight, Hotel Transylvania, Lord of The Rings...I can go on and on and yet no one complained about the pairings shipped in the examples mentioned despite the huge age differences between the characters. It's called double standards with its hypocrisy.
Gennedy had this idea for Samurai Jack since his childhood and he's telling the story based on a dream he had; so those same haters, complainers, and fake fans are just going to have to deal with it, whether they want to or not. It's not their story, it's Gennedy's!

The other two are... yeah... but at least the New 52 version of Diana was only 27 when she and Clark started mooching. Dunno if I can say the same for any of her other relationships, but then again, the only one that flat-out says she's older by a significant margin is the TV one.

You know in-regards to Jack and Ashi, I for whatever the reason think that he's most definitely gonna stay in the future mostly for her and definitely be killing Aku in-the-future/present
Anyhow, yup there's a weird double standard when they'd be more okay with the girl being WAY older(but not physically evident)than the guy

I'm not! I love this pairing! Heck, I could see it coming from the first episode, and to see it realized is the most beautiful thing ever! And if people don't like it, well, they can f*** right off!

If people still talk about this pairing, then I suggest You find out which other pairing this looks like. Which couple actually started by the two being eager to kill each other, only to later respect each other and finally fall in love and starting a family?
If You guessed "LUKE SKYWALKER and MARA JADE", then You are Correct.

I don't hate this pairing....But the way that they introduced it and handled it in that episode....It should have been handled better than that, I mean, sex innuendos especially at the last part where they killed the monster...C'mon Genndy, you're better than that.

why people disapprove of this would that there is a more father/daughter-like relationship between them , there wasn't no romance between them until this episode, which is honestly a lot to charm in, even for just one twenty-two minute episode.

First of all, the entire series is based on Genndy's dream where, basically, he's Jack and Ashi was his dream girlfriend, so one could say this was going to happen no matter what. This was planned from the start.
Second, "no romance"? I respectfully disagree, there have been big hints throughout the season, starting with the fact that Ashi was the only one out of the septuplets that was given an actual name, indicating she's the one that would become an actual character and we'd see through the entirety of the season, so she'd have a bigger role than expected. Episode 3 foreshadowed it with the deers, and episode 4 is where it began development and in that same episode there was one major hint where the puff ball says "What did you expect, a hug and a kiss?", and that came from Jack's subconscious, so deep down he was kind of expecting it. Then there's Jack complementing Ashi's new look and she very well liked the compliment. It's the small details that I'm surprised not many noticed, but this is a case where it works.
Also, Jack’s been cock teased many times before, they’ve either turned on him or turned out to be a guy in disguise (Aku, seriously, low blow), and now he finally meets a girl that is just like him in every aspect and have a lot in common. Hell, they NEEDED each other to heal both physically and mentally, something they probably couldn't have done by themselves, Ashi needed Jack to show her the truth about Aku and give her a new outlook on life, and Jack needed Ashi to break him away from his demons and remind him what a real hero he is and all the good he’s done so he can regain his will to live again. Jack's truth on Aku saved Ashi's life and Ashi's newfound hope saved Jack's life. Also, Ashi's upbringing hasn't been a happy one, all she's known was abuse and hatred from childhood to adulthood, Jack has been the only person in her life to show her kindness and understanding without any self interest and has been rather sweet with her, you think she'd pass that up?
They both have suffered enough, even legitimate badasses like them deserve some happiness too. As the old saying goes: “There’s always someone for everyone”.

I'm only addressing why the people who disapprove over this do, though the part about where the romance blooms more in this episode is a lot for one twenty-two minute episode to handle was more of my part (but that's just my point of view)

That very first line sounded like you were taking it somewhere strange but I agree with all the rest. There were a lot of hints, people have just gotten used to so much childish lines of romance that they can't even recognize subtlety anymore.

Also, another thing people forget is that Samurai Jack is a multi genre series that practically has no rules and can do and be whatever it wants, it can be action, it can be an adventure, it can be drama, it can be horror, it can be mystery and suspense, it can be dark, it can be a noir, it can be lighthearted, it can be a comedy, and it can always be either sci-fi or fantasy. So for a show like this, there's definitely room for the romantic genre. Hey, we just had an episode (S5E6) where there was an actual musical number, so anything goes.

I'm trying to wonder why I find myself uncomfortable, but this isn't the answer I was going for, because for one, there both twenty-ish (or at least physically), might be my worry about this would be that this would ruin the end of the series

I think you should also mention Liu Kang and Kitana. Kitana is nearly 10,000 years old and Liu Kang is in his late 20s/early 30s

I went for mainstream characters too that everyone would recognize. Kitana and Liu Kang are a great example but I just feel like MK took that information and swallowed it whole without anything coming out of it.

Wonder Woman, in the comics, generally isn't hundreds or thousands of years old. It varies depending on iteration, but Diana is usually still in her twenties when she becomes Wonder Woman and leaves Themyscira for the first time.
