Dug out the oils (they fill me with fear) and attempted to paint a realistic looking piece of meat from a photo found online (alas I live in a meatless house) On the whole I think I got the colours more or less OK, but I'm not happy with the lines of fat, they seem to look wrong to me somehow.Related content

almost makes me sense the blue drops on the side are cold blood
and are somehow related to the piece of meat ?

ooh i love this. oils fill me with fear also, but i think you've done a good job here. i also like the drips of paint, they seem to set it off somehow, and they look a bit sinister!

To be honest the meat in the photo I drew this from didn't have much in the way of texture as it was a clean slice..
