I would imagine similar techniques could be applied to do this in say sculpy or similar mediums?

Congratulations on the DD!
I absolutely love Red Eyed Tree Frogs; they're definitely my favorite animal. However I don't ever cook or do anything close to food art (unless you count folding a used napkin), I'd love to make something like this myself as a display trinket; hopefully coloured clay will work! I love your "tutorial" of sorts, and the simple to do yet complex finished product design you've come up with.

You should be able to do it with polymer clay I think!! Good luck

I really admire what people can do with icing! I find it so difficult to manipulate, even for the simplest text. Gorgeous work! I wouldn't want to eat it because I don't want to destroy the amazing quality!

Is this made with fondant? Is fondant the same as ready to roll icing?

Yes it's sugarpaste but there are many different brands, your paste should not be too soft.

So cute! I LOVE frogs and I'd love to have a cake with this. Except that I wouldn't eat it... I would save it and lacquer or something it so I could keep it forever! XD
Congrats for the DD!

I think chocolate, but you can probably make one with clay. Works the same, just have to bake it.

A very cute frog. I have a weakness for frogs and this one is pretty darn cute.
I'm interested to know just what materials this is made of. What inspired you to do it?

He's made out of sugarpaste so it's completely edible
I just love making cute animals
