Description
Huzzah, what a way to start off the new year by making a tutorial!! I had people loving my ponies and asking me how I did them. So here you go, I hope it is simple enough to follow! Some of the steps can apply to any drawing, such as referencing and making a base to manipulate.
**EDIT** Thank you all so much for the faves!! I did not think so many people would enjoy it!
I hope to see what you all do with this

awesome tutorial! only problem for me, is that i don't have a tablet, so sketching on the computer is really hard for me to do; do you know how well this works for traditional art? cause it seems to me like it would end up needing a whole lot of erasing

If you want to do it traditionally, I would recommend using artist's colored pencils (Sanford is the brand I use) and then for your final work placing a second paper over it and using a light table (or window) to trace your work and make the final piece. For the pencils you can get a very light blue non-photo pencil that does not show up on scans or photos OR you can use something like this [link] These are great for sketching and layering sketches with different colors (the link is only to red ones but I have found them in an array of colors)
Good luck
