Heck yeah, I'm on schedule again! I actually managed to finish this month's owl this month It's august, it's the middle of summer and even though my vacation is in september, I had to do something beach themed. And colourful. It's so bright and obnoxious, I love it!
Ater giving the owl it's base coat I thought about the colour for the umbrella and chair... at first I wanted to make it red, to have at least some kind of cohesive colour scheme. But then I thought "screw it" and made it purple - throw in some pink seashells and the rainbow is complete. I'm actually a little sad I shaded with a bit of purple... I mean, imagine how moch more vibrant and obnoxious it would be had I only shaded with a darker version of the colour

Ohhhh this owl is having the time of it's life! It's too colorful, just like summer and vacation should be ♥
You needed the purple because of the yellow, so it worked well
There is a trick for making purple with pigments. I don't know if you knew it, but my mind was blown away when I found it out, so I'll share it with you. If you use Cadmium red, mixing it with blue will make a dull purple (because Cadmium red has orange, and orange + blue = grey). Alizarim crimson will make a purple more vibrant (Alizarim crimson has blue, so it's ok to mix it with blue without making a mud color. There's no good red pigment that is "truly red", that's why some people don't use it as a primary color.

Thank you again
Oh, that sounds really cool! I didn't know it in that much detail/theory, but I actually mixed all of the purples I used here from my various blues and reds I have

It works! To be honest I rather to use the supplies I have and just have fun.
I had more fun learning about those technical details than using it, for sure!
