nice shot, monochrome gives the photograph a nice touch. the composition is nicely handled, and the blades of grass have a nice silhouette effect. The clarity is a little off which slightly kills it for me, but on the whole, a nice capture.

if you have the c-41 black and white film (the stuff that can be developed in regular labs), the color will only be off by as much as the lab's printing machine is off in color. This means that if their printer is perfectly calibrated, your prints should be perfectly in greyscale. Usually the printers are off a bit; for instance, the c-41 black and white prints i get back from my wal-mart are usually a bit reddish.
the best way to eliminate the color is to simply scan your image in using the greyscale option on your scanner (if it has a greyscale option -- if it doesn't, you can convert it to greyscale in photoshop). of course, such as in this print, sometimes the color offset adds to the print--i quite like the reddish and greenish hues in the fog.
