Description Zlatorog is the Solvenian Legend of Goldhorn or Goldenhorn. It's horns were the key to a treasure hidden in the mountains around Triglav.

In the legend, a hunter blinded by greed for the Zlatorog's horns shot the creature and when it fled, beautiful flowers grew from where its blood touched the earth. Before the hunter could stop it, the Zlatorog nibbled on the flowers and was restored.

The Triglav rose still grows upon the mountain to this day.

So that completes the creature alphabet! If you guys have any ideas on what I should do next, please leave a comment. I'd love to hear your ideas.

Thanks everyone! It was fun.

What a neat legend!

I like the background a lot, and the colours you used. The way it's placed up on the mountaintop is great, where people can see and admire it but can't quite get to it.

Congrats on finishing your alphabet!
Nothing really comes to mind at the moment for the next project, but whatever you end up doing, I look forward to seeing it!

Thanks! Well if anything comes to mind, I'm all ears. Thinking of doing lesser known gods and goddesses next.

Your use of negative space for background is, as always, on point.  I've been looking through you gallery just taking note on how you pull off your minimal backgrounds for maximum effect.

Thanks! I love playing with shapes in my shadow layer, its what I use as a guide for my line work. Gives a little wiggle room for experimentation.

I love your art style. How long did it take to do all of them?

Maybe some alien trading cards, 5 wouldn't be bad, then let us draw a friend for each of them. Just a thought, tho' I'd like to see how you would approach 'Little Green Men' or "Little Green...Ladies'...? I have an alien who needs a pet...? Just a thought. Have a good one!

Thanks, lessee, started A is for Airwhale back in June so about 6 months total from A to Z. Not too bad, about a creature a week then.

Oh, I am still going to try out some aliens... I was thinking of doing both a grey and a green. And heck ya, everyone needs a pet

That's a lot of work in that time, that's cool...

Nice! I can't wait to see what you make. I have been sketching some ideas but wanted to wait and see if you were interested in the alien thing. ...Might name something Z-Bob, or Z-Blob, or Hank? Hahaha I'm not sure yet

Hmmm, guess we'll just have to wait and see?

what a great way to end the series! this guy reminds me a bit of the devil from the movie The Witch (which is maybe a vague comparison since I don't think the movie it's that popular come to think of it).

And regarding what you could do next, perhaps some portraits about portraits about mythological characters, like some deities from different pantheons perhaps (the norse and greek gods are my favorites, but I reckon there's a ton to choose from).

Hmm I haven't seen The Witch yet. It's on my to-do list but I need to finish Stranger Things season 2 still. It's so good!

Ah, gods and goddesses. Thank you! That would be awesome. Definitely some Greek and Norse, maybe even some obscure ones thrown in. I'm going to have to add some "modern" gods as well. Like maybe a God of knowledge but mixing Google and Wiki together...

That's an awesome idea!!! And now that would be a god I worshipped, I owe google and wiki too much already haha

And I'm finishing the second season too. I had to wait for a friend who I was watching it with, but we finally have some time now that it's spring break over here. I've heard a lot of people talking about some of my fave characters getting some development, so I'm excited to see where it goes

Most of us owe a lot to google and wiki.... come to think of it, its kinda scary.

Same, had to wait for my husband to have time to watch it with me, we work different hours. So we get an episode in every week. Might trade sleep for a marathon though. I think you'll definitely enjoy it

Agreed. If someone suddenly messed with both of them, I imagine a lot of people will be turning in papers and answering stuff that really makes no sense! (plus the amount of times I read wiki entries just out of boredom is also astonishing)

And I still haven't finish it. I think I should just be a bad person and end up binging it on my own, waiting for someone with a busy schedule definitely makes it harder. Nah, I'm kidding, but the fact that I have a single episode left doesn't really help either

Wonderful piece! I always wanted to paint Zlatorog. It`s such a beautiful legend. How have you heard of it?

Thanks! It's traditionally white but I wanted to stay away from the "unicorn" look.

I accidentally stumbled across it when I found an image of its sculpture and looked it up on wiki. Loved the legend of it so I knew it would be the final entry to the creature alphabet.
