In Memo Kosemen's graphic novel All Tomorrows, Striders ; a species of post human creature roaming the surface of a low gravity world after the Qu departed the galaxy, are said to have disappeared after they fell prey to some forms of evolved poultry, admittedly descendants of original stocks brought from Earth. Here is my rendition of how things may have unfolded. Rather than the bird reaching a size comparable to the strider, it could have hidden on top of trees or rocky outcrops and waited for an occasion to glide over the Strider neck to quickly restrain them and crush their windpipe or jugular ; if not their fragile spinal cord. Or maybe they could have just tucked really hard on the very, very low hanging testicles of their males.
