Finally uploaded something to DA 8D Holy shit I'm not dead guys!

Anyway huff... I started this after I finished the ref sheet of my own avatar (coming soon-ish) to update my dragon's ref because its old as F. So here is the new ref sheet with updated bios. :3

And to answer the question of why not commission someone else to do the ref sheet? Well I have this tradition, (Outside of the naga massage therapists Gabby and Onyxia), to make my own ref sheets. Makes it easier and it does test my skills...well outside of shading that I decided to forgo this time.

Anywho, the important info about Dolus:

Race Title - Hellfire Dragon
Size - Nose to tail he is 56 feet in length, most of that due to his overtly long tail. He stands course at an imposing 24 feet with an impressive wingspan of almost 68 feet that are deceptively small when folded on his back.
Weight - approximately 44 metric tons
Age Range - approximately 450 years
Physical Strength - approximately 76 tons

Who:

His formal name, is Doluthorem Frillwing, though most, simply call him Dolus.

Almost little to nothing is known how Dolus's egg came into existence, but when he hatched he bore the mark of Sulanthiea, the Goddess of Darkness. Being the first of his kind, he is a bit self conscious, very introverted. But once you get past his awkwardness he really opens up to be a fun loving, very big, cuddle-loving softie of a dragon. This care free attitude would make most people think he is fairly harmless, and for the most part they'd be right.

Personality:

Dolus on first meeting is pretty unusual. While he is quite the imposing creature, In the presence of his friends he is quite a warm personality to be with. Some may describe him being a big scaly derpy cat, which throws the notion of a scary dragon pretty far out the window. To complement his already warm persona he is quite the mellow character when in private company. There is a catch to this however, the unusual thing about him is that he is shy around new company. He doesn't talk much to new people unless he really knows them, but he will if the need arises. If so he is quite the gentleman, ready to offer you what you wish or happy to have small talk to ease himself into longer conversations to get himself familiar with a new face. But his friends will warn you, he is a trickster.

Simply put, Dolus is a dragon who LOVEs to laugh, (though not necessarily likes to get tickled). He will do just about anything to get a laugh, as long as the other party is able to get one as well, unless they are not someone whom he likes particularly well. So stealthily is he with his witty mischief that even those who know him aren't too sure he did anything, acting very innocent or oblivious to the joke. This is helped by the fact that some jokes can and sometimes do go over his head if he his unfamiliar to the source material.

Outside of this, he is a dragon that loves cuddles and scratches, much like a cat, often times stretching out the limb or appendage that is being scratched. He is also happy to indulge others who share the same love for it and enjoys those who can cuddle him well. This explains his love for serpent and naga folk. While this does pose a danger to his health (physical and mental) he finds their presence a comfort to his life regardless of the risks. That being said he only knows two nagas that are powerful enough to pull his fully prepped mind into hypnotic state through ocular hypnosis, his master Nikku, the other, a scary gorgon..

Abilities:

Dolus can breathe burning liquid rock that sticks to every surface it touches much like napalm at speeds consistent of a super high pressure fire hose. He can cause minor rockslides and melt rock at a distance of 100m without exhausting his energy. He can go farther but it is very hard on his body. He is also able to cover himself with this liquid fire, heating his scales to extremely hot temperatures that it actually causes trees and other organic things to burst and explode as the water inside them rapidly turns into steam. When he isn't in combat though he can dive into a pool of lava or magma without any ill affects to himself, or others as long as they stay physically attached to him. Once out of this hot environment though his scales tend to smell like cinnamon as they cool. Something that he is fond of using with his fire is being able to heal even some of the most grievous wounds with his fire. It's a bit jarring to those who are being healed as they only feel a fine soothing warmth covering the wound, not to mention an extreme sense of itching.

When it comes to him and open combat, he is a very skilled warrior on both the ground and the sky, making extensive and excellent use of his body very similar to a martial artist which is very uncommon for a dragon to be using a fighting style very similar to what humans would call jujutsu or taekwondo. What he is, is a warrior trained in the Uashakari Arts, (Uashakari literally translating to "Demon Hunter" in draconian). This makes him a very deadly opponent in both one on one and group fights, though in a full battle he won't hesitate to use other methods at his disposal, such as his claws, teeth, wings and tail and if the need arose, his liquid fire and it also makes him not so susceptible to demonic corruption. However there is a darker undertone to this, he tries to keep himself very calm during such a fight, minding his emotions, not from any teachings particularly, but the effort to suppress his more violent instincts which, if triggered, could cause him to lose himself to the fight and lose all sense of friend or foe, requiring very close friends, mates or loved ones to help bring him back to reality, or the safest way, lure him away and let him be alone for long enough and the fatigue will eventually to just that, leaving him exhausted.

This is caused an adrenalin gland that affect his brain. Once the glands start Dolus goes into a full blood rage. While in this mode there were many incidents of friendly fire when the crazy dragon damaged some very expensive equipment and some casualties. Many Narien generals and commanders found that the best strategy in dealing with Dolus and his blood rage was to point him in the general direction of their enemies and then get the hell out of the way. Once he does manage to come out of this blood rage he is very fatigued and emotionally exhausted and sometimes very sorrowful if his rage resulted in friendlies getting hurt, especially his loved ones.

His training in the Uashakari Arts allows him to steal the souls and powers of demons, allowing him to use their powers against them and if used long enough and often enough, he can eventually use his own magic to replicate their abilities and not have to use the souls of the particular demon that he learning it from. This is evident by his use of an ability he called shadow phase. When he uses this ability he enters a strange reality in between the real world where the laws of the physical world, such as time are no longer relevant. To him everything seems to stand still in a grey scale version of the world where all the shadows of the world are far more pronounced. The scary thing, he can affect the physical world in whatever way he wishes that often times has catastrophic affects in the real world, like a mere poke to someone's cheek in this shadow world, will send them flying in the real world. Fortunately he can't maintain this for long, lest he drains his magic and becomes trapped here, forcing him to find a hole back to reality. What everyone else sees is all a blur, seeing Dolus move unnaturally fast, if they can make him out that is when everything around them is blowing by quickly. Shadow phase is of course his favorite ability.

Though not used all the time, unless he wishes to discuss or mention something very private, he is also a telepath, able to communicate with his mind and project his thoughts into the minds of others. He doesn't use this very often unless he is trying to impress or assert his dominance due to it being very risky as it can open his mind up to various mental attacks that are much harder to defend against when his mind is already open. This isn't to mention that it is very hard to keep things that you don't want everyone to see from drifting between the link. This doesn't mean that he won't be able to read the minds of those who are not strong mentally, and much to his mischievous nature, will sometimes input ideas into the minds of some giving them the impression that it was their idea.
