Description
After all these years of cheating my way through all my face & figure drawing (i.e., usually skipping the foundation, jumping straight into details, relying too much on reference art), I finally took the time to firmly learn the basics. I followed a tutorial called Dynamic Figure Drawing by comics artist Dave Finch (one of my favorite artists - I always keep an eye open for his work whenever I visit the comics store). Following along with the onscreen instructions, I produced the above results. I didn't follow everything he taught though; i.e. I mostly skipped his sections on shading, since I prefer my own way of doing that; however, I do feel like I learned a lot. Expect to see better looking figures drawn by me coming up soon.
