Ok. Light source, huh? Do glow sticks count? Or are they too faint?

I have no idea. But I used one of those battery powered glow stick. But it should be possible. Try it out. Try it with a glow stick and draw in the air with it :3

oh just a little tidbit the ISO (shutter speed) has to be low. On my camera I used 64ISO. The slowest speed I have on my set up. and you need to have a smooth trust-able place to put it on. You don't wanna have your camera fall because you put it someplace wobbly. And a suggestion is put a short timer on, like a 2 seconds+ or something like that. This way have time get into position and do what you wanna do
