There are 5 commanders that have earned their titles as commanders. They all earned it in different ways, but they all had the same goal.

Zea: though he may not be from this universe, he kept his promise on helping out around this here. He's been through a lot, but still moves forward.

ElishebisZPR Eli: Since she has an army with an equal abundance of plants and zombies, she definitely earned to be considered a general. Her goal is to make peace, and she's doing well achieving her goal.

MegaboatmaN Boatman: In the beginning, he was considered a coward, but now, he fights for what's right, stopping Z Tech. He is now an admiral, who will not rest until Z Tech is gone.

Nyanbonecrush Nyan: his army is one of the largest, he's fought against Z Tech more than anyone. He has allies and friends by his side, who will assist him in battle.

StantheSpider Scar: probably the most loyal man alive. He's made allies from aliens to people from different universes. He's done a lot of helping, and has earned a lot of respect for it.
