Excellent job, although I agree with the previous corn comments, another main vegetable would have been a better choice.

And congrats on teh DD

i really like it,but just a detail: corn is not a good choice when talking about greek gods, as it is american, really important in american culture... maybe an olive? everything else is really nice, original and well thought.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

namoaj In reply to valoncia [2006-09-06 20:11:53 +0000 UTC]

Thanx for the comment . I chose the corn because Demeter is thought of as β€˜the corn mother” and is usually depicted holding stems of corn or a wreath made of corn but I do see your point and I appreciate that corn, as a symbolic item, has become inseparably linked in peoples minds with american culture. I thought of having olive or fruit branches but Demeter was specifically a goddess of grains and the harvest. Maybe I could have used barley. Anyho, thanx again, I appreciate it when people actually look and think about your work .

yes, corn is native american, that's what i'm saying... indian? as in native american, not as in... indian, right? hehe... just kidding, i understood.
