Description
Or, as I also like to call it, "Coloring Fur: WTF Am I Doing Edition". Though, if I went with the ways I give them in my head while I work, most of my drawings would be called "Ohgod why did I think I could do this" or "I should have practiced more" or "this is the last time I draw this kind of thing".ANYWAYS, welcome to the colored version of this baby. Along with Memories of Warmth, this is officially my most complex work up to this day. I mean, it has a legit, honest-to-goodness background and everything, you guys. Despite what I might say this is one of the projects I've had most fun doing, and I think I'm slowly getting the hang of cloth folds. Now, I should work on textures, because everything looks like leather. I referenced the pose from here: senshistock.deviantart.com/art… . In case it looks like different shades of dusty grey, her fur is actually white and black. White fur is a NIGHTMARE. It shouldn't even EXIST. But it worked out in the end. I have to say, the tutorials I read on the matter stressed that one shouldn't paint every single hair, and I'll admit that their drawings look all fluffy and pretty. However, I looked at my white bunny and all I saw was a bunch of lines, so I said "screw that" and drew a bunch of lines. It mostly worked for the black part, I believe. The tail looks a bit coarse, unfortunately. And I don't think I nailed the pose. The head looks a bit out of proportion and place, but I didn't notice until a couple days ago. Furries are HARD and it took me a while to get the face passable. I'm fond of that purple eye, if I'm honest. I used three colors and they all show.
What else... her fingernails are teal (cyan?) like her toenails, but it's hard to see. I'm pretty proud of the background; it was a stroke of inspiration what made me flood it in my favorite color. It made the rest of the colors pop out, which was my original intention. I hope the flowers weren't a dumb touch, but I think they give it a bit of a Japanese feel... or am I seeing things? I even signed and everything.
Actually, I rather feel like having a fursona myself now. -.- Some kind of persona would be nice, at least. Why does everyone have awesome personas?
As usual I forgot to track the time it took, but the background alone took around three hours, and that was the easy part. I used pretty much my entire set of Staedtler pencils save the yellows and pinks. I added the eye shine and edited scanner stains out in GIMP, the former because I didn't feel like buying yet another bottle of white acrylic or a gel pen. However, one of my other projects might need a bunch of acrylic... we'll see.
I'm scared of what'll pop up at "More Like This".

For now I have a robot-sona (?) and I'm planning on a veggie-sona (???), but if I ever decide on an animal I'd love a fursona and your drawings. After so much investigating and drawing this picture I kinda warmed up to drawing fur. Then again, it'd be a whole new area I'd have to start improving on. XD
