Description
I'm horrible with proportions, so I'm always tinkering. Here's Nanashi making, what I hope, is a martial arts stance.Related content

The right leg needs to be farther under the body- this stance is weak. A good rule of thumb is to drop a straight line from the center of gravity (for men the solar plexus, for women slightly lower, around the navel) to the ground, like a plumb line. In a stance where they are moving, one leg should be as close to it as possible, in stationary stances (that is, when they are just standing around) it should fall just about right between the legs. The foot needs to be turned slightly more toward the front, too. You're also making a contradiction in movement here- she's thrusting foreward with her right hand, but her entire body is twisted to the left, which makes the pose even weaker. In addition, the right side of her body needs to be collaspsed- her shoulder is down, but her ribcage and spine are straight. Of course, doing that would force the weight to be on her right leg, which would need to be closer to the body. The way to get around this would be for you to really move the left leg in under her, and straighten the right leg, lifting the toe sligthtly, which would make it look more like kung-fu. I think thats what I would do if I was going to do this particular drawing, I'd also put the point of view at about a 3/4 angle, so that her hand is coming almost at you. It would make it more dynamic.
Check online for dynamic movement and martial arts pictures, and strike your poses before you draw them to get a feel for where the limbs need to be.
