Day 5: Feathers

For this one I wanted to use Ahiru's costume from the post epilogue frame from the show. She looks very much like a sylth or fairy and it seemed really well suited for the image I wanted to go for. Fakir is wearing a costume I see crop up a lot when searching for references for him, I'm not sure what the costume is supposed to be but it looks all ballet-y and gentleman-ly so I think it works for him. I almost drew writing floating around them too but was worried I'd run out of time if I spent too long fiddling with this image, I think it was the second one I started work on.

Princess Tutu and all related characters belong to Ikuko Itoh.

I think the actual version from the show has no arms, but I like the fact that she's got them here; hard to reach out to Fakir with wingtips!

Ah yes, that does make sense. XD That one would be even harder to do, she's got so much backlighting going on that it's near impossible to see what's going on.

Bah, I just have a better memory for stuff I've watched than some people. It's weird what my brain chooses to retain. If music and lyrics are involved you can safely bet that I'll remember it way better than any history lesson or info on cars.

Thank you, especially for the fav! I'm so glad the fade effect came out alright, it's the first time I had tried it that way. Normally I would have flattened her then faded everything together but this time I made the lines thinner as I went and I think the effect works out much better.

Is that what that outfit is? I just liked the look of it and thought him wearing such dark clothes would contrast well with how light and ethereal I was trying to make Ahiru. I will admit that this is my favorite piece, I really like Love and all but I don't think it looks as good or succeeded as well as this one.
