Normal souls are reincarnated, but Kubo never says what happens to dead shinigami... come to think of it, he never says exactly what happens when you purify a Hollow either. Maybe they go to the Spirit Realm or something.

It ticks me off. It ticks me off ROYALLY, and not in the "zomg noes y did Kubo just murder Byakuya-sama" way, either. Kubo spent entire arcs building this incredible, badass, complex character, who has been motivated by nothing other than his duty as a Kuchiki and his sister... only to obliterate him for no good reason while watching his one joy in life dying before his eyes. There's no resolution, THAT'S why I'm so displeased with Kubo at present.

And on top of that, he seems to take his duty more to heart than something Hisana wanted him to do for her. Rukia finally had her big brother and Kubo had to go and fuck it up.

This was explained when Rukia met Aaroniero. Normal souls from Rukongai get reincarnated to the Human world. However, when a Shinigami dies, their bodies dissolve into spirit particles and become part of Soul Society itself -which as you know, is made of said spirit particles-

No need to sound so condescending.
I don't follow Bleach religiously, I only follow it enough to know what's going on. But I'm fairly certain that every soul, regardless of their status, dissolves into spirit particles after death. And from those spirit particles, newborns are 'built' in the human world. The energy is recycled, but they cease to be a singular entity any longer.
Disagree with me if you want, that's what I'm going to continue to believe.

He says "our" and "we." I think that refers to all souls, not just shinigami. It doesn't really make sense for the fate to be different between the two, since they're both made up of spirit particles.

Byakuya was already a soul, so it's more likely he'll be destroyed or reincarnated in the world of the living. :3 It's basically a cycle.
When you die, you go to Soul Society. When you pass on as a soul, I'd assume you go to be born again.
